United Way of Florence County and WYNN 106 FM  Celebrate the “Stuff A Bus”
School Supply Drive for Children in Florence School District One

(Florence, SC) United Way of Florence County and WYNN 106 FM partnered  to benefit Florence School District One students. The partners co-hosted the Stuff a Bus event held at local Wal-Mart stores.  Two school buses, which were recently parked at the Wal-Mart stores on Beltline Drive and on South Irby Street, housed the donated supplies.   Consumers at both stores purchased supplies.

Several local businesses also recently hosted school supply drives to combine with the supplies collected at Wal-Mart, and sent several children in need in the Florence area back to school with supplies. Participating companies included Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of South Carolina; Carolinas Hospital System; Assurant; ADP; Honda of SC; Turner, Padgett, Graham & Laney, PA; Rita’s and BB&T.  All supplies were stuffed on the bus.

“Our Stuff the Bus Campaign was a success thanks to the local public ----consumers who shopped at both Wal-Mart locations---and to area businesses who hosted school supply drives,“ said Florence One Superintendent Larry Jackson. “ Our appreciation is extended to the staff of United Way, Cumulus Broadcasting,  and Rennie Lunn.  “Because of their generosity some of our students who have a need will benefit from schools supplies collected.”
